A personalized EFT tapping script for a man with Cystic Fibrosis.

I received an email from a reader who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis. He was eager to try EFT tapping to help with his condition.  If you read the exchange of emails below, you'll see how I asked a few simple questions that directly addressed his feelings and emotions and then created an effective tapping script that he used to get relief.

*You'll find out below how you can also receive a personalized tapping script.*

Comments:: Sandy - I am beginning to learn about EFT and came across one of your youtube videos.  Your positivity and enthusiasm oozed from the screen. I went to your link and found that tapping can help with cystic fibrosis - I have this disease and want to use eft to help alleviate symptoms and eventually eliminate it from my life.  Is there a "script" that works best for this or do you know of a practitioner that may be helpful?  I want my tapping to be as effective as possible - carpe diem and all.
Looking forward to your response.

ME:
So nice of you to say, thank you.

Here are two impt resources for you:
If you haven't see "The Tapping Solution" it's really a must & will be so motivating for you I'm sure.

http://squidoo.com/the-tapping-solution-try-it
http://squidoo.com/eft-tapping-technique-tips

So, you can do tapping from any script (check YouTube videos, and specific EFT community sites) and receive what they call borrowing benefits. But when you want to work one on one with a practitioner that's where you'll receive best results.  I've personally worked with AnaMaria Herrera and I think Carol Look is #1 and Rick Wilkes is known for treating pain.

I could write a personal script for you to start with. In fact that's a service I've been considering posting on the site in return for donations. See, now you're motivating me get out there and do it :)

First, allow me to ask just a few questions to pinpoint some things for the script.
1. What was going on in your life (any traumas/dramas) when you got your diagnosis of CF? Or have you had it from birth?
2. Right in this moment... describe your most uncomfortable symptom and where is it located in your body?
3. If you could give your pain an emotion what would that be?
Ok, write back and I'll work on something for you.

Regards,
Sandy

READER:
1. I was diagnosed at age 4 - the same time my younger brother was diagnosed as an infant. He passed over 10 years ago, and honestly my own health has slowly declined in that period.
2. Congestion/constriction, especially upper airways.
3. Fear and worry and stress because CF doesn't offer a "break." I don't feel I'm leading the life I want to. I'm a dad of twins and I know they need me in their lives.

I'm grateful for your help.

ME:
Well, I took your comments and have created a tapping round to begin with. I hope that you will use the resources and educate yourself on how to continue to work with EFT to uncover more and more aspects to tap on as this is just the beginning.

Start by saying out loud: "I'm feeling really scared about my future because I have this disease."

Get a rating on how strong the discomfort is, a number between 1-10, 10 being the most intense

Write down that number.

Drink some water.

**Notice any thoughts, images, memories that come up while tapping and make a note. Anything that comes up is your mind's way of leading you to where you need to go to dig deeper so pay attention.  (fyi: I may be combining too many emotions here because each even though statement could actually be it's own tapping round - so you can try that too)

Tapping on the karate chop (KC):
"Even though I'm worried because my brother passed from this disease and my own health has been declining ever since, I wonder if I could have a different outcome.

Even though there's a part of me that's scared because I don't feel I'm leading the life I want to but, there's another part of me that knows it's actually possible to have more and I accept both parts of me anyway.

Even though I feel constricted in my upper airways and stressed because this disease doesn't offer a break, I'm willing to accept things as they are for now and I'm tapping on this

Eyebrow point (EB): "all this worry"
Side eye (SE): "all this fear"
Under eye (UE): "all this constriction in my chest"
Under nose (UN): "it's really bothering me"
Under chin (UC):  "I'm so used to it because I've felt this since I was 4"
Collarbone (CB): "but I'm so tired of it"
Side body (SB):  "i want it to go away"
Top of head (TH): "I wonder what it would take for these feelings to go away?"
Eyebrow point (EB): "there's a part of me that's scared"
Side eye (SE): "and there's another part of me that knows this can change"
Under eye (UE): "but I'm not sure how"
Under nose (UN): "I wonder if this tapping is going to do any good?"
Under chin (UC): "it can't hurt"
Collarbone (CB):  "what if I could use this tapping to help alleviate my symptoms?"
Side body (SB):  "that might be too good to be true"
Top of head (TH): "but, I'm willing to find out"

Take a deep breath and say your statement again to see if the number has changed.

Hopefully, you feel a some ease in the charge. Notice your body's reactions too.

Also, don't get too hung up on scripts.  I have had great success using the "tell the story" technique.  In the moment of feeling anger or sadness or fear, just start tapping on the face points (not the KC) and vent out loud. It's perfect. You're already feeling the emotion, so call it up into your body and start tapping it out. There's not a "right or wrong" thing to say.

Keep tapping,
Sandy

P.S. I included this because I'm not sure if this is any kind of liability, so just in case.

READER:
Sandy,
Tapping went well this week. Again, I can't thank you enough for the script your provided. First of all, I took your advice and broke the tapping into three different sessions - one for each set up phrase. I notice that I get a tingling sensation (hair standing on end) behind my legs and on forearms when I hit the collar bone point. This happens almost every time. I've noticed that my negative thoughts about the future have greatly diminished. I'm hoping that continued tapping will result in a physical release and improved health.

Thanks for checking in, it is much appreciated.

What can I do if the actual tapping is painful due to my fibromyalgia?

Just posting on the blog for the first time tonight and I thought I would share a comment that was submitted to my site this morning. Btw, I sent him a private email with my suggestions. I often do share tapping scripts with people who write to me and I'm hoping this one was helpful to this reader. Below is his actual letter and my response.

-----------------------------
On Tue Aug 09 10:24:41 2011, the following results were submitted from the "Contact Me" on practical-personal-development-advice.com:

------------------------------
First Name: undisclosed
Country: Canada

I tried EFT on myself for back pain and other things but I have fibromyalgy also, so each tiome I tap the burns increase even from the set up.
So I decided to begin by that healness. My burns were at 2. After the 1st round at 4, the 2nd round at 6 and the 3rd round at 8.

So I decided to stop and work on the burns directly but that increas also. That is very too bad because I have so much issues to work on for practicing but obviously I can’t beacuse of the fibromyalgy symptomes.

So what advice could you give to me?:)

Thank you
Sincerely,

Hello friend,

I received your email question about EFT that you submitted to my site. I just want to be clear that I am not a licensed practitioner nor do I know Gary Craig personally (you addressed your comment to Gary).

However, I read your comment and wanted to offer a suggestion. If I understand you correctly, you're having pain when you do the actual tapping due to your fibromyalgia.  Though you have back pain and other items you'd like to tap on, you find it too painful to do the actual tapping and tried to do it for those symptoms first.

That is a good start. It's always best to go with the MOST troublesome, uncomfortable pain that's coming up first.  In your case, I would suggest you do the karate chop & tapping points mentally. My understanding is that if you put your attention and intention into the thought and imagine feeling how it would feel to tap in each place - the energy does get directed there and has a similar effect. Try this until you are comfortable with the physical tapping again.

A possible script to start with could be:

Even though I'm not able to do the EFT tapping because of this pain in my ____ and that really makes me feel_______, I accept how I feel and wonder if I could allow it work anyway

Even though these symptoms are keeping me from tapping the way I want to and the pain gets even stronger when I try, I wonder if I could just use my mind to tap the points and feel some relief

Even though I can't tap without feeling pain, there's a part of me that knows that I can still feel relief just by using my imagination to tap the points

eyebrow: this pain
side of eye: these fibromyalgia symptoms
under eye: this pain in my _________
under nose: it's really bothering me
under chin: it's making me feel so_________
collarbone: this continuous pain
side of body: it never goes away
top of head: this pain from my fibromyalgia

Do more rounds as needed, sometimes "telling the story" is the best technique to use while you tap. Just rant out loud, get angry, get sad, say whatever comes up as you're telling the story of the pain.

Also, I have a very helpful link to share with you, please use it with my compliments: http://efttips.gotapyourself.com

Please write me back and tell me how you're feeling.

Infin8ly yours,
Sandy
